We'll start off this message with the weekly article as sent in
uedited format to teletext.

This international break has confirmed at last how many Reds will be
off to Germany potentially next summer. I think we all had a cheer
seeing Luis scoring his hat-trick at the weekend. There's no bigger
stage of course than the world cup so we wish them all the best of
luck next summer.

The club scene of course continues now and its back to hard graft
again. We've seen in the past couple of weeks players react
positively to criticism. Their reaction has resulted in better all
round team efforts and of course points on the board.

With the World Club Cup only around the corner it's essential that
we get these points on the board quickly now before going off to
Japan. We have the quality to do it that's for sure on both home
and European fronts.

In other news now

Harry Kewell, Luis Garcia, Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina and Fernando
Morientes are all celebrating today after reaching the World Cup
next summer.

Spare a thought for John Arne Riise though who won't be going as
Norway were knocked out by the Czech Republic. He'll have the
summer in front of the TV no doubt watching it.

Riise also suffered mild concussion in the game and is out on
Saturday against portsmouth.

Benfica have said Simao has a price tag and is now allowed to
leave. Liverpool are his most likely destination in January but
watch this space for more.

One player going the opposite way may be Jerzy Dudek.

In transfer rumours Edu Dracena of Cruzeiros has said we enquired
over him in October but the South American side were not interested
in selling their defender. Edu has claimed the interest but how
much is mere talk is not known.

Finally site news

I've played about with the menu bar again. This has now resulted in
a clearer navigation for Champions League Stats and the overall
European record stats.

Two tables which are now easier to find are

The All time Champions League table (post ko version)

http://www.liverweb.org.uk/euroalltime.htm

The all time table of English sides in Europe - we sit nicely at the
top of this one :o)

http://www.liverweb.org.uk/englisheurotable.htm

Of course each menu bar holds a mine of information on top of that
from appearances to subs, goal scorers and in the Champions League
its down to success on a particular day and with refs from certain
Countries.

Enjoy - more pages coming all the time

Well after that short break I'm back again. Thanks of course go to
Spoffer for the upkeep of the match reports and the site stats are
getting back to normal again. I've added the missing menu bar back
in again which went for no reason that I can see. Thanks as always
again to AdamS for his match report at the reserves - top man.

The site has all the Champions league stats and Premiership Stats
bang up to date now and I'm working through the final few updates
from the break. Dopn't forget these stats include all appearances,
goals and subs from all competitions the Reds play in.

There's also managerial stats so you can see at an instant where
Rafa compares with other managers of the past. All time league
stats and all time cup stats of course too.

Let me know if there are other stats that can be added.

On to the news updates now

American Billionaire Robert Kraft has refused to rule out investment
in the club afterhis meeting with Rick Parry last week.

Kraft told BBC Radio "Liverpool is a great brand and it's something
our family respects a lot.

"We're always interested in opportunities and growing, so you never
know what can happen."

Liverpool also refused to totally reject the possibility of future
investment, but stressed no deal was imminent.

"I've known them since 2001 and had an invitation to visit the
Gillette stadium, one of the USA's few privately-funded stadia,"
said Parry.

Parry added: "It gave us a chance to discuss the way they funded the
ground's construction.

"Being an international break, it was a convenient time to accept
the invitation and it proved an interesting trip.

"It was hardly a secret mission. I attended an NFL match with 80,000
spectators."

Dudek to Leave?

Jerzy Dudek is reported to be on the verge of leaving in January.
Dudek has said that he will speak to Rafa Benitez about his future
but with the impending world cup next summer Dudek is likely to seek
a January move. One thing that would keep Jerzy with the Reds of
course would be if he regained his place which barring injury is
unlikely.

One player definitely signing in January is Paul Anderson from Hull
City. The teenager who played 45 minutes for the Reds reserves as a
trialist earlier this season will move to Anfield. The deal will
see John Welsh convert his loan deal to a permanent one at Hull.

Steven Gerrard has said he'd love to be involved in a coaching role
at the club after his playing career finishes.

On the international scene Luis garcia bagged a hat-trick against
Slovakia at the weekend as Spain all but booked their place in the
World Cup next year. Garcia was subbed just after he got his third
goal. Fernando Morientes also scored in the Spanish 5-1 win.
Alosno came on as a second half sub whilst Jose Reina was the unused
goalie.

John Arne Riise played for Norway as they went down 1-0 at home to
the Czech Republic. Former Red Vladimir Smicer got the goal for the
Czech's.

Harry Kewell played the whole match for Australia as they went down
1-0 in Uruguay.

All second legs are played on Wednesday this week.

In the friendly matches Steven Gerrard played for England as they
beat Argentina 3-2. Peter Crouch was a second half sub in the match
which saw ex-Red Owen score twice.

In gossip areas Simao is allegedly available from Benfica now for
£12 million.
