GARCIA WORRY FOR LIVERPOOL
Luis Garcia (thigh) is Liverpool's only injury concern for their
Barclays Premiership clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
The attacking midfielder sustained the injury during Wednesday's 2-1
victory at Portsmouth where he scored the winner, his 12th of the season
for the Anfield club.
Boss Rafael Benitez is expected to restore skipper Steven Gerrard to the
starting line-up after resting him to the bench for the Fratton Park
match to protect a groin problem.
Gerrard's return would mean Xabi Alonso being rested with next week's
Champions League clash with Chelsea in mind.
Italian striker Nicola Ventola could be a surprise inclusion for Crystal
Palace, seven months after breaking his leg.
Defender Darren Powell has recovered from flu and is likely to start,
but midfielder Mikele Leigertwood (hamstring) is a doubt.
Long-term absentees Emmerson Boyce (foot) and striker Tommy Black (leg)
remain sidelined.
