Robson confirms interest in Kirkland

BRYAN ROBSON has confirmed his interest in taking Chris Kirkland on loan
to West Brom.

The Daily Post last week revealed how Liverpool's England Under-21
international is hoping to reignite his World Cup dream with a move to
the Hawthorns.

And now manager Robson intends to sit down with the 24-year-old to
thrash out a season-long deal.

"We are interested in signing in Chris and I think it would be for a
certain amount of time," Robson said.

"I hope to have him over for training so that we can assess his fitness
and if all is alright there could be a possible loan deal.

"I am hoping to have talks this week and a deal is something we are
definitely looking at."

Kirkland has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield after a season
blighted by injury and poor form.

With Villareal goalkeeper Jose Reina almost certain to arrive this
summer, his first-team chances have dwindled even further. "We are
looking at a few play-ers, but there is no news as yet with a lot of it
speculation at the minute," added Robson..
