REDS RELEASE PELLE

Argentine defender Mauricio Pellegrino has officially left Liverpool
after he was told he would not be getting a new contract.

Pellegrino rejoined Rafael Benitez when he moved from Valencia to
Liverpool in January 2005 on a short term contract. He played 12 games
for Liverpool with his last appearance coming against Aston Villa on the
final day of last season. One of his best matches in a red shirt came in
the 2-1 Anfield derby win over Everton.

In an exclusive interview with Liverpoolfc.tv upon signing for the club
Pellegrino predicted that Rafael Benitez would bring back the good times
to Liverpool.

Pellegrino said: "I feel Benitez will bring trophies to Liverpool. This
club has very good players like Jamie Carragher and I think in the
future Liverpool will win more trophies."
