Gerrard will play tonight
By Ian Doyle, Daily Post

STEVEN GERRARD will make his long-awaited return to action tonight
following almost two months out with a broken metatarsal.

The Liverpool skipper is expected to play the second half of the reserves'
match at Wolves. And if he comes through unscathed, the midfielder is
likely to be back in the first-team squad for Saturday's Premiership game
at Middlesbrough.

Gerrard has been sidelined since suffering the injury to his left foot
during the 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on September 20.

Meanwhile, Jerzy Dudek has admitted he will be forced to consider his
future if he has not regained his first-team place by Christmas.

Dudek has been replaced by Chris Kirkland as Liverpool's first-choice
goalkeeper by manager Rafael Benitez and has since been restricted to
appearances in the Carling Cup.

And the 31-year-old has said: "It will not be easy to leave Liverpool but I
might have to.

"I have to think of my situation. If I don't play for Liverpool, the
national coach won't pick me for Poland.

"It is very important I know what my future is here, or else I have to look
for another club. I will wait until Christmas and then see the manager."

However, Dudek has insisted he has no problem with Benitez - unlike former
Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier.

"Benitez is not a bad manager," added the Polish international. "Gerard
Houllier, last year, was a bad manager. I always got the feeling that he
was waiting for a mistake from me so he could put Chris Kirkland in goal.
So I was very happy when Houllier was sacked."

Kirkland has been called up to the England squad along with Jamie Carragher
for Wednesday's friendly against Spain in Madrid.
