Xabi Alonso has said he is optimistioc of being fit for the Cup final
on Saturday after a scan on his ankle today showed an ankle ligament
sprain.

The Reds have said he will receive intensive treatment this week and
should be fine for Saturday.

Meanwhile Steven Gerrard, Peter Crouch and Jamie Carragher have all
been named in the England squad for Germany 2006. Scott Carson has
been put on standby for England if any of Robinson, James or Green get
injured prior to the tournament.

In transfer rumours - The Reds are said to have offered Harry Kewell
to Valencia for just £4m.
