[Liverweb] News Latest

The Reds have now completed the move for Jan Kronkamp after the
Dutch defender passed a medical at Anfield yesterday. He will be
unveiled at a news conference today. He will be eligible for the FA
Cup game at Luton on Saturday.

Dan Agger is expected to complete his move to the Reds at the
weekend for £5.5m Paul Anderson has completed his switch tot he
Reds as well with John Welsh completing his switch the other way to
Hull City.

This weeks teletext article went off last night which is below in
unedited format.

The hectic festive period is now over and 10 points out of 12 is a
good return. It has kept us right up there at the top of the
table. The last two games were the hardest for us over the time I
have to say with one hoping for a draw and the other finally
clinging on to one. We are certainly improving though and that is
something to take in to 2006.

The first weekend ahead of us of course leads to a new competition
and all eyes are on the team selection. That of course comes
because of last year and the match at Burnley. I don't think the
same mistakes will happen on the pitch this year though and Rafa
will take the game very seriously. The competition deserves respect
and that is what will come across I think. The tie of course sends
our minds back to 1987 and hopefully this time there won't be any
snow to contend with.

The transfer window of course is open and we've been active already
signing on Paul Anderson and Jan Kronkamp. One is obviously for the
future for now but it will be interesting to see how much of an
impact the Dutch right back makes. Both have arrived in swap deals
and I'd like to wish John Welsh especially good luck in his career
at Hull. I always had high hopes for him but it just wasn't to be.
Now the eyes are fixed on the transfer door to see who's next - Dan
Agger by all acounts.
