FAMILIAR FOES FOR ZENDEN

Liverpool expect to have Bolo Zenden back in their side for the visit to
his former club Middlesbrough in their opening Barclays Premiership match.

The Dutch winger was left at home as Liverpool beat CSKA Sofia in
Bulgaria in midweek because of a thigh strain, but extensive treatment
means he is in the squad for the trip to the Riverside.

Manager Rafael Benitez still has Josemi (thigh), Peter Crouch
(hamstring), Djimi Traore (thigh) and Jerzy Dudek (dislocated elbow) out.

Boro new-boy Aiyegbeni Yakubu is in line for his competitive debut when
the European champions Liverpool visit.

The £7.5million signing is the only new face in Steve McClaren's squad
with Emanuel Pogatetz still fighting his 24-week ban, but Mark Viduka
(back and hamstring) and Gaizka Mendieta (knee ligaments) are in
contention after lengthy periods on the sidelines.

Ugo Ehiogu is expected to shake off a groin injury, but Chris Riggott
(knee) is a doubt with Matthew Bates standing by and Stuart Parnaby
(knee) is out.
