CHEYROU HEADS FOR BORDEAUX ON LOAN
By Paul Rogers

Liverpoolfc.tv can confirm that French midfielder Bruno Cheyrou has
officially joined Bordeaux on loan in a year-long deal.

The 27-year-old central midfielder spent the entire 2004/05 season on
loan with Marseille but after failing to make a real impact, Cheyrou
will be hoping to earn an international recall at Bordeaux.

Signed by Gerard Houllier from Lille in June 2002, Cheyrou looked
fantastic in a pre-season game against Lazio at Anfield but then by his
own admission struggled with the pace and physical presence of the
English game.

The French international enjoyed a decent 2003 pre-season campaign but
after starting the first game of the season against Chelsea, left the
pitch after an hour with a foot injury. This was to keep him out of
action for almost five months.

Upon returning he scored twice in an FA Cup win over Newcastle and
scored a few more vital goals including the winner at Chelsea.
Unfortunately, since then he's struggled playing in various positions,
even up front.
