Cisse can't wait to help Reds get their Chelsea revenge
By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo

DJIBRIL CISSE today vowed to erase the pain of missing the League Cup
Final defeat to Chelsea by playing his part in a famous Champions League
victory over the Londoners.

The French striker completed his dramatic recovery from a broken leg by
appearing as a late sub in Wednesday's draw in Turin.

Having endured the loss in Cardiff as a frustrated spectator, Cisse
can't wait to get into the thick of the action when the teams next meet
on an even bigger stage.

"It's going to be hard against Chelsea, but having lost to them three
times, now we really want to beat them," said Cisse.

"The game will mean even more to me because I had to miss the cup final.

I'm really looking forward to both games. People will make Chelsea
favourites, but that's better for us.

"There's no reason we can't win the competition now. I think other teams
will be taking notice of Liverpool after our result against Juventus.

"I'm really pleased for all my team-mates because they've taken us so
far in the competition.

They've done a great job in the competition."

Cisse could make his Anfield comeback against Spurs, although he's
likely to be named as substitute again.

The forward says he can't believe how soon he's recovered from an injury
which was expected to keep him out until the start of next season.

"I was really surprised to be back, but very happy. I don't know what
more I can say than this," he said.

"I even had a chance at the end of the Juventus game. In a few months,
maybe I would be a bit quicker and take that opportunity. I knew a day
before we travelled I'd be involved in the game.

"Now I can't believe it.

I've never pushed the boss to pick me quicker than he wanted. Everything
has happened under the guidance of the medical staff and that's why I'm
back now.

"Now I have a few games before the end of the season and I hope to play
as many games as possible."
