REDS SUFFER HYYPIA INJURY BLOW
By Steve Hunter

Liverpool's turbulent season of injuries continues as Sami Hyypia will
miss Tuesday's Carling Cup semi-final at Watford after suffering a hip
injury.

The Finnish international limped out of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at
Southampton but is hoping to be back for the match at Charlton on
Tuesday, 1st February.

Hyypia becomes the 11th Liverpool player to be out injured this season
and it causes a major selection poser for Rafael Benitez.

It is expected Djimi Traore will come in to partner Mauricio Pellegrino
at centre half at Watford with Jamie Carragher continuing at right back.

Liverpool's Head of Press Ian Cotton said: "Sami had a scan at Melwood
on Sunday morning which revealed he has a hip injury. He should be back
for the game at Charlton."
