COVENTRY STILL WANT WARNOCK
By Steve Hunter

Coventry City say they still want to try and sign Liverpool midfielder
Stephen Warnock, despite the Academy product being given a new lease of
life at Anfield under Rafael Benitez.
Sky Blues assistant manager Adrian Heath says his club have been in
constant contact with Liverpool to see if they would consider letting
Warnock go on loan again.

Warnock spent the entire last season on loan at Coventry City and was
awarded the supporters player of the year title.

However he returned to Anfield and promptly signed a new year deal and he
has been very much in Rafael Benitez's plans. Warnock made his Liverpool
debut as a substitute in the Champions League qualifying win over Grazer AK.

Heath said: "A lot of people will have seen Stephen go on for Liverpool on
Tuesday night so that's been a little bit of a blow to us.

"We were hoping to do something on that front, so maybe he's forced his way
into the plans at Liverpool. We have spoken to Liverpool on almost a daily
basis and I think Rick Parry is probably fed up of hearing the manager's voice."
