Crystal Palace v Liverpool
Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has warned his side that they need to be more
ruthless in front of goal and must improve their attitude.
The European champions have scored only five goals in eight Premiership
games this season and are 13th in the table after losing to Fulham last
Saturday.

"In attack our movement was bad at Fulham," he said ahead of Tuesday's
Carling Cup tie at Crystal Palace.

"We must make clear chances, clear passes and clear movements."

Benitez hit out as his side's display at Craven Cottage, which came after a
Champions League win at Anderlecht, and cited that his team seem to suffer
after midweek European matches.

The performance of the team against Fulham was bad in terms of the
aggressiveness

Rafael Benitez

"It's acceptable to play at the same level as Chelsea and lose but it's not
acceptable to play Fulham, whom we know we are better than, and come away
with nothing," he said.

"It's not just the players who need to improve but all of us. I include the
staff, the players, everyone.

"We all know we need to change the attitude, particularly after European
games. We all spoke and watched the Fulham match again.

"The performance of the team was bad in terms of the aggressiveness of the
players.

"We had a lot of the ball and controlled the play but didn't show enough
until the second half. We've had these problems before after a Champions
League game.

"We've all seen the big mistake we made with our first-half performance and
now we need to correct it."
