Vignal's Rangers talks break down

GREGORY VIGNAL could be heading back to Anfield after talks with Rangers
broke down.

The Liverpool defender's loan deal ends in the summer and he was keen to
extend his stay at Ibrox.

It is believed he was offered a three-year deal by chief executive
Martin Bain but the player was far from impressed by the terms on offer.

His agent Philippe Flavier said: "There has been no progress at all. I
think the talks have come to a full stop.

"We met with Martin Bain today for the second time and there was no
movement.

"We are both very disappointed because he loves playing for Rangers and
is very happy with the coach but we have no choice.

"Now I will work with other interests because we have time before May.

"It is not a good ending to a weekend that brought a cup win but Gregory
still has a league championship to win and will do his best."

* CHESTER CITY are hoping to complete the signing of Liverpool
goal-keeper Paul Harrison before Thursday's transfer deadline.

Harrison is a product of the Anfield School of Excellence and City
chairman Stephen Vaughan is trying to agree a deal with the 20-year-old
this week.

"I have spoken to Paul's agent and hope-fully we can conclude a mutually
beneficial deal prior to Thursday's deadline," said Vaughan.

"Paul has been a regular with Liverpool's reserve side, and he is a
player whom we would like to be a part of our future."
